Chelsea "Nintendoll"

I'm a woman who enjoys video games. My first system was a Super Nintendo and I've been a bit of a Nintendo fangirl since. I don't really favor any one system though, I love all games equally. They can't help it if they were born from different developers and publishers!
I currently reside on the East Coast of the United States. Apart from videogames, I'm a bit of a Japanophile and a lover of Marvel comics. If I could be anything in the world, it would be a guitar so I could rock your face off. I also enjoy grabbing a pint of Yuengling with friends or curling up with a particularly good Kurt Vonnegut book.
I'm blogging at Negative Gamer because I believe far too often, people just gloss over all the bad aspects of games and their companies. Well-written, constructive criticism is what will save videogames from becoming a homogenized pile of game mush. Good games indeed deserve to be praised, but there is no such thing as a "perfect game." Therefore any aspect of a game that takes away from the experience should be analyzed for future gamers and developers to keep in mind as they search for the next big game.
2008-12-30 15:11:24Worlds is also purposely taking legal action against NCSoft in Texas--an area notorious for their nationalistic attitude, as well as leniency towards plaintiffs in patent cases. I think it was Slashdot that was talking about that.
2008-12-30 14:02:24"We don’t need stupid people calling others people names like they do at xbl."
Um, didn't you just call us "fucking retards" in your complaint? How does that make you, a PS3 user, any different from the XBL users you criticize?
I'm not saying at all the XBL is necessarily a better service than the Playstation Network. In fact, Home aside, PSN is an excellent service. I also agree with you that $50 is a bit pricey for an online service, however NXE is easy to use and they've cut down the ads on the dashboard significantly, so I can't complain. The yearly cost, added to the price of a new console, is
still not as expensive as a PS3. In fact, you could buy almost two years of service and the price would be comparable, not to mention the included headset. So price isn't really the best factor to argue here.
I can understand how you might mistake me for a Nintendo fangirl, however there is absolutely nothing I have written that compares Home to XBL. The point of this article is that Sony still had many VERY obvious problems to iron out before releasing Home into open beta. Glitches like purchased items disappearing should not even have made it out of the alpha testing stage, let alone slipped through the private beta.
I understand Sony is moving quickly to remedy this problem (from what I've heard in the PS3 forums) but should they not be criticized for letting the censorship issue get this far, especially when Home has been in development for so long? I personally don't think it's acceptable.
2008-12-22 23:04:44The graphics on PaRappa the Rapper hold up pretty well because of the unique art style. I think a new trend we are seeing with increased capacity for graphics are games that are more artistically styled. Castle Crashers, Eternity's Child, Mad World, and even games like Katamari Damacy have a distinct artistic style, unlike some older games.
2008-12-22 22:45:20I really dislike that they took the GBA slot out. Although I've been playing HM: More Friends of Mineral Town on my Micro anyway :P
2008-12-10 22:16:15I only play with people I know, and the few times I've played with strangers I haven't had too many problems. I also tend to play late at night, when all of the children have gone beddy-bye.
2008-12-04 20:24:41Whaaaaat Left 4 Dead at number 7?! I guess I'll just have tp play more to get the stats up :P
But this is also only for the 360 and doesn't count PC players. So Halo 3 is only the most popular online game on 360, not out of all Microsoft games. Not that it makes a difference to the fanboys.
2008-12-04 20:16:50That IS tha game I wanted to play! I want to explore my parkouring options without having the distraction of constantly being shot at.
NOW they are doing something truly innovative, with a first person puzzle runner game. I just wish it wasn't costing me $70 to get there.

I think that relates to the part where she talks about how some games can't spend as much on marketing.
