It seems that everyone and their grandmothers, including us at Negative Gamer, are currently enjoying the most hyped game of this eon: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Unfortunately for Activision, we’re doing so days before we’re supposed to be.
The official release date for the game is the 10th of November 2009 for both the console and gimped PC versions. Yet many people have been able to walk into their local game store and purchase it no problem many days in advance.(Including folks who write here and reside on my friends list.)
Broken street dates are nothing new, but rarely does it happen to a game as high-profile as this one, and even less often is it as wide-spread as this. I’m no marketing genius or retail pundit, but it wouldn’t be ridiculous to think that perhaps some stores are breaking dates to be the first to have the games available. After all, the fanboys are going to flock to any store (throwing money at them while they do) that can get them shooting at people’s faces days earlier than they were intending.
Keep an eye out for a Negative Gamer impression. Listeners of the NGCast will know that that Modern Warfare was Wardrox’s favourite game of all time. Ever. As such, there’s no way we can’t have things to say about the sequal.

Maybe its about time I got a slice of this modern Warfare 2 pie.
I’ll pass thanks. Borderlands sounds more like Ideal time of Shooty Wizzy Fun.
Fanboys such as Brandon? :p
@Sam
“Dipstick”’s more like it
played the campaign – was only interested in the campaign, as COD4s was awesome. And the game starts off awesome alright. Action, nice visuals, and the first huge framerate drop in the first 10 minutes.
