I promise we’ll stop talking about Torchlight soon. If you want to know more about our thoughts on the game, Andy’s review is now up. Joining myself and Andy for this Torchlight NGCast special is Max Schaefer (CEO), Travis Baldree (President and Project Lead) and a few minutes into the show, Jason Beck (Art Director). On this episode we talk about;
- How releasing a game is like having a baby
- A Mac port is coming, and Linux port isn’t
- Why you have a pet
- What’s with the crazy amount of free modding available and how soon until a Diablo mod?
- How to cope with Piracy
- How this game fits in with the planned MMO and more details on that

Max sounds slightly like Gandon and Wardrox comes across as a giddy school girl, I’m loving it.
Tired developers write the best code :P
I would like to say thanks to Wardrox, I read your preview and got the game, and its pretty awesome. If you ever visit the Torchlight forums, im Huggs ;)
Great show, guys. This is a great companion to a new or “on the fence” Torchlight player.
I like that the developers didn’t attempt to force people to buy the game through DRM, because they are right about how quickly things are cracked. I checked the pirate bay at 1:30 PST out of curiosity and there was already a crack. DRM doesn’t stop people, and it is really nice to see developers not attacking the players.
Bah, I left my ipod at a friend’s house, won’t be able to listen to this for a while :(
Great review!! Sounds like they’re gonna get a multi-player version of the single-player going before spreading into the MMO, which is nice!
@Eorl: I think you misunderstand, I believe it is the case that they are planning on the MMO being the multiplayer version of the single player.
