Well it’s that time again. Following up the ban of rape in hentai games, the Ethics Organization of Computer Software (EOCS) are at it once more, this time targeting everything from pregnancy to bondage.
You heard correctly, the end result of sexual activities is now going to be regulated out of hentai games. The ban applies to basically every aspect of a game, including the text, title, and images, meaning that it is more or less impossible to include it. Even developer names cannot include these words.
Canned dogs had the full list:

- Gang Rape
- Sexual violence
- Cruel sexual play (鬼畜)
- Reverse rape
- Shoujo
- Forbidden sex (相姦) (such as adultery and incest)
- Reverse sexual violence (逆陵辱)
- Forced (強要)
- Group sex (複数プレイ)
- School council (生徒会)
- Bestiality (not catgirls or vampires etc)
- Bondage
- Coercion
- Train groping (車内わいせつ)
- Enjo Kousai (wikipedia link)
- Incest
- Torture
- Japanese bondage (緊縛)
- Pregnant
- Rape (強姦) (another way to refer to rape)
- Slave
- Pregnant woman
- Imprisonment
- Impregnation
Of course this is nothing short of ridiculous. While the imagery evoked by some of these topics is quite disturbing and difficult to defend, at what point was it decided that consensual bondage and group sex constituted unacceptable imagery in pornography? The aforementioned pregnancy ban, which covers both pregnancy as a result of sex and sexual activities with pregnant women, is offensive to the extreme. Wherever your stance lies on hentai I think that everyone can agree that pregnancy is not some disgusting fetish. To think someone would find pregnancy objectionable truly disturbs me.
The ban, of course, affects only hentai games at the moment, because seeing an animated drawing of someone naked and tied up is infinitely worse than seeing a real life person tied up. Hopefully this is ringing some freedom of speech alarm bells in Japan as we speak and this matter will be dealt with shortly.
Is this just for games, because saying that video games are the main form of “objectionable hentai” is being naive. I personally don’t like to see things get banned, so seeing Japan of all people starting to ban their own “bread and butter” in the field of pornography is very disheartening.
I personally don’t want to live in a world where Japan isn’t making horribly perverted stuff. Next Australians will stop drinking Foster’s and chucking boomerangs at things, and Americans will stop being pompous, fast food binging religious zealots.

@Analoge So far this only affects games as EOCS only deals in PC games. Though the ways things are going I wouldn’t be surprised if it started to spill over to other mediums.
Well I’m pretty sure Japan’s cultural policy on sex was “don’t ask, don’t tell” and America asked and now the hammer has been dropped and the foots on the ground. Wide spread acceptance of pedophilia (i.e. Loli) has been a concern with the public and government but they never moved against it until now really.
I blame the rigidly adhered censorship laws that most likely have not been updated since the 1950’s after the U.S. re-established a Japanese government (not blaming America but how government has not updated these laws). I mean, the Japanese love porn, LOVE IT, more than the west and Europe combined so I can see this not going over easy.
P Marsh probably hits it on the head with “Don’t ask don’t tell” but this is a ridiculous set of things banned from adult pornography, virtual pornography at that which requires no humans to be physically involved in anything. Sigh.
I really dont care they band this stuff, Videogames are suppose to be fun. Does these words or action promote fun? I don’t think so, I’m more concerned about frag’n your butt, doing quest and etc…

You don’t think that getting virtual girls pregnant wouldn’t be fun? It seems to me that having sex in games, without consequences, is rather absurd without the chance getting people pregnant! Is there something evil about wanting to get your female companion(s) pregnant? Heck, I would think you could create a whole sim about sex, pregnancy, and keeping your companions happy! I can understand rape/forced pregnancy being banned, but why ALL pregancy?
sounds like these games are going to get a lot lamer then. they sure aint fun to play in comparison to japans normal commercial games and just how weird and kinky can we get is all they have going for them.

I honestly don’t care and there is prob many ways around it. For example I am the hamburglar who rapes someone and implants a sesame seed in the victims who later expel a whopper jr. I mean its so out of there its not really in violation of anything because as we all know dead junk food doesn’t reproduce so how could it possibly be pregnancy.
