In addition to banning paintball, laser tag and not banning real guns a pair of German researchers have published a study alleging that the Pentagon created violent videogames. They state that the US Army and police forces developed the games as killing simulators for the army and police before the Pentagon released them to their accomplices in the videogame industry, who in turn unleashed them onto the public. According to the report published in Current Concerns:
The US army’s electronic training programs for killing people must be taken back to the US barracks, where they came from. They have to disappear from civil society altogether. They may be appropriate for the purpose of national defense or fight against crime; they have no place, however, in children’s rooms or in living rooms.
The report draws parallels with “war toys” such as toy soldiers and guns which were banned in Germany after World War 2. Then any dangling shreds of credibility the report may have had disappear in a huge grenade explosion with this one single sentence.
The murderous influence of killer games has been proved in uncountable research studies up to now.
Bang, not only the phrase “Killer Games” but also calling in the numerous disproved and inconclusive research studies on the effects of violent videogames shows a lack of general knowledge. I honestly can’t believe that we’re still going through those checkpoints, proof (if it were needed) that we don’t need Jack Thompson for this shit.

This really does show how out of the loop Germany are with video games. Surely on par with the stupid angle newspapers take that, video games is the reason X killed Y.
Well yeah, with the exception being that dude came to Briain to kill some girls boyfriend. Though games were very much an indirect cause in this case(as most).

This is really annoying, living in Germany you have to doubt everybody blame you as gamer for all the terror in the world… this sucks.
