Sick filth

Every hack videogame writer on the planet has been waiting for this story, and this particular hack is no different. The Telegraph, one of Britain’s few respectable newspapers (i.e. does not contain tits) has reported that a 25 year-old man died while playing Wii Fit.

Tim Eves was jogging in Wii Fit when he collapsed, his girlfriend called an ambulance however he was pronounced dead at the hospital. Eves had spoken to his grandma just before he died and apparently he’d just ordered a Kebab and was drinking port.

An autopsy was held, but so far “Sudden Adult Death Syndrome” is the only possible cause of death stated, but no official report has been made public. Nice to see Wii Fit getting the completely unrelated mention though, proof of fairness in journalism.

In the interest of fairness though, what if there was another ailment that they were unaware of? My grandfather died of a heart attack, and this was a man who rode his pedal bike 55 miles on his 55th birthday. Not even the doctors saw it coming. Things can happen for little to no reason… maybe the jogging just pushed something too far?

Uch, seriously. This story is annoying the hell out of me. The original story is actually here, reported two days before the Telegraph mnetioned it: http://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/content/news/story.aspx?brand=ENOnline&category=News&tBrand=ENOnline&tCategory=News&itemid=NOED28%20Mar%202009%2011%3A10%3A48%3A023

And my take on it? – http://geezmun.blogspot.com/2009/03/new-headlines-same-old-story.html

And for those who think “Sudden Adult Death Syndrome” is a stupid name, it’s also known as “Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndrome”, which means they think something went wrong with the electric pulses that keep his heart going, making his heart stop beating properly, causing lack of oxygen to the brain, causing death. Or something along those lines.
