The waiting is finally over. Voting is officially open for the Negative Gamer People’s Choice Award For Biggest Disappointment! The award chosen by you, the gamers, to celebrate the single most disappointing experience to come out of 2008.

Remember, you shouldn’t necessarily be voting for the biggest pile of failure on the list. Your vote is towards the most disappointing nominee. What did you come into 08 expecting to be the greatest thing ever, only to have your dreams shattered before your eyes.

Voting will run until December 17th and the winner will be announced on a very special, Negative Gamer Awards NGCast on the 18th. What are you waiting for? This is IMPORTANT!

If you would like to influence the outcome of the other awards being given out, such as the Biggest PR Backfire Award or the Brownest Game Award, make sure to head into our forums and have your say.

Can’t believe you didn’t include GTA IV on that list..i’m outta here.

@Tom: It wasn’t nominated. Though, now that I think about it It was very disappointing.

Hmm now that you’ve incluced the WIi and E3 this makes it much more difficult. Going to say the Wii though, such fail there.

  4. Pyroph Says:

*I picked that because of how it’s selling.

  5. Pyroph Says:

Triple post: Sorry, meant how it’s selling compared to what it offers.

I was going to say the PS3, but it had some solid titles this year.

My vote goes for the Wii. It’s still sitting there.

The Wii? Harsh. The only console that was really stellar this year was the 360. I think people are just pissed about the epic amounts of shovelware for the Wii right now (which suck, but sell- I’ve seen it happen at the game store). I play my Wii. /shrug. I’ll be voting for LBP as I cannot understand the epic hype surrounding it. It’s not that great.

    Bollocks, wardrox. Bollocks, I say!

Oh, wait…you see, I was going to put PlayStation Home as my write-in vote, but I suppose it’s not entirely fair to include it on the list since it isn’t officially out yet. So I went with Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

  9. wardrox Says:

@Samit Sarkar: Home might be in the running for the Broken Promises Award, so it’s not all lost :)

i don’t see why little big planet should be on the list just about everyone i know loves it. yeah the controls take some time more low quality content then high but still yet its a very fun game.

the game i find disappointing is grand theft auto 4 san andreas was a lot more fun.

to add to the confusion, I wrote in Haze… such a disappointment.

I went with LBP, just because I had the highest hopes for it. Most of the others I was pretty cautious about and wasn’t too disappointed (even Mirror’s Edge), but I completely fell into the LBP marketing machine.
