News Microsoft Say The NXE is as Important as Colour TV

Not just the biggest moment in the history of the Internet now! The probably-very-reliable launch of the NXE tomorrow, an update often dismissed as a bunch of crap nobody cares about, is as important as the invention of colour TV… according to MS.

In 1954, the introduction of colour TV heralded the dawn of a new era in entertainment. On Nov. 19, more than 50 years after that dramatic shift, a new era in home entertainment begins with the New Xbox Experience as millions of Xbox 360™ consoles will transform instantly through the power of software. A bold new future begins now, where high definition entertainment is delivered in an instant, the best games share the stage with the best movies, and every experience is shared with friends and families, in the same room or around the world.

I guess it’s good to see them being so modest, especially considering the first draft of what they wrote. Luckily, I managed to create grab a copy before the alterations were made:

In 1945, the introduction of the atomic bomb heralded the dawn of a new era in world politics. On Nov. 19, more than 50 years after that dramatic shift, a new era in mankind begins with the New Xbox Experience as millions of Xbox 360™ consoles will transform instantly through the power of software. A bold new future begins now, where world peace and the removal of poverty in third world countries is delivered in an instant, the best economic advisers share the stage with the world leaders, and every experience is shared with friends and families, in the same room or around the world.

Little known fact: In Stanley Kubrick’s epic masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey, the monolith found on the Moon actually represents the NXE.

  1. Halfleft Says:

If the monolith represents NXE then the 20 minute LSD-induced journey through infinity must represent the download process.

    That would be… Interesting.

  2. Gareth Says:

I was actually excited about this update… stayed up especially, eagerly waiting for the notification that my xbox360 experience will change for ever. Midnight comes around and… nothing. Not a sausage. I was well disappointed… I’d better have xboxlive plus plus good when I get back from work. Humph.
