News Microsoft Will Force You To Have An Avatar AND Require A 256MB Card Or Greater… BREAKING: MS Are Fucking Idiots.

In news sure to rattle even the most hardcore member of the Microsoft Defence Force; the word out of the Xbox camp at TGS today is that Avatars will be mandatory AND that a minimum of a 256MB card is required for the NXE (New Xbox Experience) and Avatar customisation.

Haven’t got a hard drive? Don’t want an avatar? Microsoft already has your money, and really doesn’t give two shits about you. Sorry.

So, Core Xbox 360 owners are completely out of the loop, and Arcade users will have to decide if they want either an Avatar, or their save files. Alternatively, they could spend roughly four times more than they should for an Xbox Hard drive. What a choice.

This still leaves me very confused. If you don’t have the memory, will the update be optional for you then? If this is the case, aren’t Aaron Greenberg’s words a bit misleading (if still amusing)?

We’re forcing you to have a visual representation of yourself. But you can make a pretty badass avatar.

Oh Microsoft, do you hit me because you love me?

Further clarification that Microsoft have NO IDEA who they’re marketing the Xbox to any more.

Except money, they always want money.

Yeah, that is pretty shitty. Although tbh I’m really not sure why the 360 was offered without a hard drive. I mean, wasn’t the big draw supposed to be all the DLC, XBLA and online stuff you can do?

I know when I worked at a video game store I always recommended the premium over the arcade bundle, even if we didn’t have any in stock.
